Practical Parenting Partnerships

Bolivar Primary School was recognized recently for ten years of participation with Practical Parenting Partnerships or PPP. PPP is a collaborative framework that was created in 1992 by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. PPP begins with implimentation training for a school team and the school receives comprehensive curriculum materials that cover many topics of interest to parents such as discipline, nutrition, homework, and sibling relationships.

Throughout the school year, these PPP resources are used to build and enhance the home to school community. Bolivar Primary offers many opportunities for parent involvement. Some of the activities include: Celebration of Success, the Parent Advisory Team, Family Reading Night, Math nights, and a variety of Parent Teacher Association activities. Brochures and reading materials are made available to parents as a support for common parenting issues and challenges.
