8th Grade: Bolivar won by a score of 6-0; they are 2-0-1 on the season.
Bolivar was able to march up and down
the field on the Bison of Buffalo, but costly penalties and mistakes by
Bolivar in the red zone kept the score knotted at zeroes till Jacob
Miles scampered into the end zone on the QB option with 1:43 showing on
the clock in the fourth quarter. The two-point conversion failed. The
winning drive and TD was set up by a Tyler Curts' fumble recovery deep
in Bison territory.
"Our kids have outplayed and
out-hit every opponent we have played, but have had to overcome silly
penalties and mental mistakes to get the job done. With next week's
game being played on Thursday night, we have a little more time to
correct those things before we take on the Blue Jays of Marshfield, who
are always big and usually have a lot of kids out for football." The
8th Graders have yet to allow any points to be scored in the three
games that they have played thus far. |
