Bolivar R-1 School District has made a committment to the eMINTS program and continues to equip classrooms with technology and train teacher to use the equipment in and inquiry and collaborative classroom. eMINTS - Enhancing Missouri's Instructional Networked Teaching Strategies - transforms elementary classrooms into places for learning where teachers and students use multimedia tools to better understand the world, work together and achieve at new and higher levels.

The goal of the eMINTS Program is to support Missouri educators as they integrate multimedia technology into inquiry-based, student-centered, interdisciplinary, collaborative teaching practices that result in improved student performance, increased parent involvement and enriched instructional effectiveness.

Bolivar currently has 43 teachers going through apart of the eMINTS training program. Each program is defined below.

eMINTS

All eight sections of 4th grade teachers are certified eMINTS teachers.

eMINTS4ALL

Through eMINTS grants and district funds, Bolivar School district has been able to include technology and eMINTS teacher training in grades 2-6. All 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 6th (CA and Math) grade teachers will be participating in the eMINTS4ALL training through May 2008. All of these classrooms will have a SMARTboard and a teacher station.

METS

One Bolivar Middle School 8th grade math teacher and one Bolivar High School science teacher will recieve an eMINTS classroom and eMINTS training in 07-08 through the METS program and complete their training in May of 2009. eMINTS, eMINTS4All and METS teachers are trained by the district's certified two PD4ETS eMINTS trainers.(see PD4ETS webpage)

eMINTS4SPED

Special Education teachers will recieve training on KidTools to be used in their classrooms.

Collaboration4Success

The Library Media Specialist and Extended Learning teachers K-8 will receive 12 hours of training as they partner with an eMINTS teacher to collaborate on an inquiry based lesson that they will teach together.
