Bolivar Alternative High School Mission Statement |
We believe at Project T.E.A.M. that each individual is capable of responsible learning, responsible behavior, and responsible citizenship. Therefore, our mission is to become significant partners with the Bolivar R-I School District and the Bolivar community to establish programs to assist those middle and high school students whose socialization problems and academic deficiencies have created a pattern of repeated failure in the traditional setting. A primary goal will be for these students to aquire the necessary knowledge and skills to become empowered lifelong learners and socially responsible members of our society:
*Concentrating their efforts in school work towards the goal of graduation. *Setting career and personal goals. *Becoming productive and contributing members of society.

| Bolivar Alternative School provides an opportunity for up to 100 students, ages 16-20, to earn credits towards a high school diploma in a small, supportive environment. Typically, our students have experienced difficulty in their home high or middle school with attendance and/or academics.
On Mondays & Wednesdays, students are on a "B-Day" block schedule, while on Tuesdays & Thursdays, students are on a "A-Day" block schedule. Fridays alternate between "A-Days" and "B-Days". A work credit is also available. We do take the students on educational/recreational field trips, as well as, doing some local community service projects. Examples: Trips to the local bowling lanes, the indoor swimming pool at the local university, community service projects at the County Court House & Bolivar Cemetery, Biology recycling project. |

Enrollment is open to students living in Bolivar or surrounding school districts. Referral from a high school principal/counselor is necessary. |
