BHS Girls Golf Finishes 6th Place at State Tournament
The Bolivar High School girls golf team made history on October 20th-21st, capturing a 6th-place finish at the MSHSAA State Golf Championships—the best team finish in school history. No other Bolivar golf program had sent a team to the state tournament before this year.
The wind was challenging at Twin Hills Country Club in Joplin, Missouri, with gusts up to 50 miles per hour both days. Leading the way for the Lady Liberators, Delaney Daniels earned an incredible 2nd-place individual finish, shooting an 84 on day one and a 75 on day two, with a total score of 159. Abi Anderson placed 11th, shooting an 87 both days for a two-day score of 174. Both Delaney and Abi earned All-State honors for their outstanding performances. Jarah Anderson shot a 115 on day one and a 110 on day two, for a total of 225. Katelyn Berry shot a 118 on day one and a 124 on day two, for a 242 finish.
“This group of girls has worked so hard all season long,” said Coach Kim Cribbs. “To see their effort, focus, and teamwork pay off at the state level is something truly special. Delaney and Abi’s performances were phenomenal, and our entire team should be so proud of what they’ve accomplished for Bolivar golf.”
Delaney and Katelyn are both seniors who leave the Lady Liberator golf program in historic fashion.
