Bolivar, MO — Bolivar High School is proud to announce that Cy Douglas and Abby Hamann have earned the top two academic honors in the Class of 2025. Douglas finished first in the class with a 4.3378 weighted GPA. Hamann finished second with a 4.2899 weighted GPA. In recognition of their exceptional academic achievements, each will receive a $2,500 scholarship from the Bolivar Educational Advancement Foundation (BEAF).
Both students have demonstrated outstanding dedication to their studies, leadership among their peers, and a commitment to excellence throughout their high school careers. The scholarships presented by BEAF are intended to support their continued educational journeys and celebrate the hard work that has brought them to this point.
“Cy and Abby exemplify the kind of academic discipline, integrity, and perseverance that make Bolivar students stand out,” said Jason Blair, Bolivar High School Principal. “They have both consistently challenged themselves and risen to the occasion, and we are incredibly proud of what they’ve accomplished.”
Cy is attending the University of Florida and plans to major in finance and accounting. He is also considering law school. Abby will attend John Brown University and plans to major in computer science.
The Bolivar Educational Advancement Foundation was created in 1991 for the purpose of funding programs and projects for the Bolivar R-1 Schools. Independent from Bolivar R-1 Schools, the Bolivar Educational Advancement Foundation provides classroom grants and scholarships for Bolivar High School graduates.
