Bolivar, MO – The Bolivar R-1 School District is proud to announce the hiring of two new assistant principals: Jennifer Miller at Bolivar Intermediate School (BIS) and Jesse Shaulis at Bolivar Primary School.

Jennifer Miller, the new Assistant Principal at Bolivar Intermediate School, brings extensive experience in educational leadership and student success initiatives. She holds a Master of Science in Educational Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Social Science Education, both from Southwest Baptist University. Miller has served as the K-12 Principal at Everton R-III School District since 2018, overseeing schoolwide discipline, staff evaluation, student achievement initiatives, and professional development programs. She has also led efforts in Positive Behavior and Intervention Supports (PBIS) and actively participated in the Missouri Leadership Development System.

"I’m truly honored and excited to step into this new role at BIS," said Miller. "Bolivar has such a proud tradition, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to be part of its future. I can’t wait to get to know our students, staff, and families and to work together to continue building a place where every student can learn, grow, and thrive."

Joining Bolivar Primary School as Assistant Principal is Jesse Shaulis, who brings a creative and student-centered approach to education. Shaulis holds two master’s degrees from Evangel University in Educational Leadership and Curriculum & Instructional Leadership, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Art Education from Missouri State University. His previous experience includes serving as a district art teacher at Niangua R-V School District and working in multiple educational support roles in the Springfield area. Shaulis is certified in Building-Level Administration and K-12 Art Education, and has presented at several professional conferences, including the STAR Summit and the Missouri Art Education Association Fall Conference.

“I am honored and excited to join Bolivar Primary School as the new Assistant Principal,” said Shaulis. “I am passionate about fostering a positive, supportive learning environment where every student thrives. I look forward to returning to the area and collaborating with staff, students, and families to contribute to the continued success at BPS.”
