With the winter weather we received this morning, we want everyone to be aware of our snow day procedures and how you will be notified in the event of a school closure.

Dr. Asbill and our transportation leaders monitor winter weather several days in advance using our local news stations and the National Weather Service. Sometimes a decision can be made to close school before the winter weather gets to us based on the severity of the weather forecast. Other times, Dr. Asbill and our transportation leaders drive the roads of our school district very early in the morning to make a determination on whether a school closure is needed.

If the decision is made to close school, parents and staff members will be notified immediately with a text message. If a decision is made early in the morning, a phone call will be delayed until 6:30 AM, but the text will still go out. We will also send out a push notification on our Bolivar Schools app. This is a great way for community members without students in our district to be notified about a snow day.

We will also post to all of our social media platforms, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Then we communicate with KY3 and KOLR10 so that the information is on their website and on the ticker during the morning newscasts. All of this is done within a 10-minute span.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. #GoLiberators
