Bolivar, MO – Bolivar High School is proud to announce that 2025 graduate Kanton Fisher has been awarded an $18,000 Mike Rowe WORKS Foundation scholarship, a prestigious recognition supporting students who choose to pursue careers in the skilled trades.
The Mike Rowe WORKS Foundation awards scholarships annually to students nationwide who demonstrate a strong work ethic, personal responsibility, and a commitment to learning essential trade skills. Fisher was selected through a competitive application process that required applicants to submit essays, video statements, and references demonstrating their dedication to closing the skills gap in America’s workforce.
“Kanton has consistently shown a strong work ethic, determination, and character that truly set him apart,” said Jason Blair, Bolivar High School Principal. “This scholarship will help him take the next steps in pursuing a meaningful career, and we could not be prouder of his accomplishments.”
With this scholarship, Fisher plans to further his education and training in the skilled trades, preparing for a successful and impactful career.
“Opportunities like this show our students that choosing a trade pathway is not only honorable but also essential for our communities,” Blair added.
Fisher is attending Universal Technical Institute in Houston, TX, studying diesel technology and collision repair.
