Bolivar, Mo. — Bolivar High School’s own Mrs. Morgan DeClue has been named the 2025 Outstanding Director for the South-Central District of the Missouri Choral Directors Association (MCDA). The award, presented at the state conference, is voted on annually by the MCDA membership to recognize excellence in leadership, dedication to music education, and outstanding contributions to the choral profession.

Mrs. DeClue expressed gratitude to her peers and students.

“I am very honored to be selected as this year’s outstanding director for the South-Central Missouri district,” said DeClue. “Our area has many high school choral programs with long-standing traditions of excellence and high achievement, which is what makes receiving this award so special to me. The Bolivar High School choral program continues to be well-represented in our region and state through student selection into honor choirs, as well as individual and ensemble success at MSHSAA competitions throughout the year. The 2025-2026 school year holds many exciting opportunities ahead for our vocal music students, and I am looking forward to beginning another year in our outstanding school district!”

Dr. Michael Methvin, Superintendent of Bolivar R-I Schools, praised Mrs. DeClue for her impact both in the classroom and beyond.

“Mrs. DeClue embodies the passion, skill, and heart that define a great educator,” Dr. Methvin said. “Her ability to inspire students while elevating the choral program is a true asset to Bolivar Schools. This award is a well-deserved recognition of her hard work and dedication.”
