School Nurses

    1. Please let your child’s school nurse know if there are updates to home or school medications or changes/additions to your child’s medical history or conditions

    2. Please make sure to include any medical condition your child has on the annual medical enrollment form online, even if this is not new for your child

    3. Please update your child’s school as soon as possible if contact information changes

    4. Appointments are recommended if you need to meet with your child’s school nurse

    1. Has a fever of 100 degrees or higher*

    2. Has been vomiting or had diarrhea*

      1. Student must be fever, vomiting and diarrhea-free for 24 hours without the use of medication to return

    3. Is taking antibiotics but not for full 24 hours, yet, unless directed otherwise by provider

    4. Has an open/draining wound that cannot be contained with a dressing

In addition, if your child presents with symptoms that would cause the student not to be able to participate in class (such as persistent cough, congestion/runny nose, sore throat, or headache), it is recommended you keep the child home.

    1. A parent/guardian may bring medication and administer it to the child in the parent/guardian’s presence

    2. All medications (prescription and over-the-counter) to be administered at school must have the District medication form signed by provider and parent/guardian

      • Medication must be provided to the nurse by the parent

      • Medication must be picked up by the last day of school and may not be transported by the student
